Newsletter February 2025

It’s nearly the end of another school holiday for us. It’s been a week of birthdays and adventure and finally we land on a day of nothingness. A completely free day with no plans but to potter. Anyone else love a ‘pottering around’ day?!

The practice is all planned and ready to go for our next evening Yoga theme, which begins this Monday 24th February.

Here’s the piece of writing which has inspired the practice - it’s all about circles and cycles.

‘Expansion and contraction - an ongoing dance of life and death, creation and destruction. Destruction can often feel messy, chaotic even, but chaos is a natural part of the creative and healing process, providing fertile ground for transformation and renewal. Take the caterpillar’s journey through metamorphosis for example. A complete dissolution of its former self. In the end is the beginning. Death provides the doorway to a new way of being. It is the way of Nature. The spiral dance.

In a circle there is no hierarchy, there is no better or less than. We come into the energy of integrity, collaboration and respect. Nature is full of circles and cycles. We are innately connected to circles and cycles. Life is not linear.’

There’s been a lot of death around in all forms during January and into February, for me personally and a lot of people who I’ve spoken and shared with. It’s not easy is it - an ending of some kind. But words such as the above keep me curious. What will grow from these endings? What could life look and feel like? What new change will be sparked? All is yet to unfold….

We will be working with the cycles and seasons in our upcoming Following the Flow session - Yoga to connect with the seasons.

Our first session of the year was pretty special as we welcomed in Imbolc. Next we work with the energies of the Spring Equinox. So if you’re feeling ready to shake off the cobwebs of Winter and step out of your hibernation, come and join us for a lovely Friday evening on 7th March, 7pm - 9pm in Ipstones. All the details can be found below.

Future Yoga Retreats.

Is one of your aims for the year ahead to put your wellness first?

Is a weekend Yoga retreat in the UK something you are looking for?

If so, I’d love to hear from you!

Behind the scenes, I’m scouting out new retreat venues for this coming year and would love to hear your preferences.

Yesterday, I went to look at this lovely venue shown in the photos above, in the Peak District. Surrounded by rolling hills, set in acres of land with meadow, river, woodland and moorland. It would be a real escape to the hills! It sleeps 10 and has a rustic barn space for our daily Yoga practice complete with under floor heating. All beds are singles in shared rooms. Breakfasts would be included along with Saturday’s evening meal. Check in would be a Friday at 4.30pm and check out on a Sunday before midday. The exchange would be around £295 to give you an idea and the dates would be Friday 4th July - 6th July.

So what do you think?

Even if the above dates don’t work for you I’d still love to hear your thoughts and if a Yoga retreat is something you would like to experience this year.
I need to make a decision on whether to go ahead and pay the deposit on the above venue by Tuesday 25th February so please send me your thoughts before then.
Please send me an email with your preferences and I’ll see if I can work my magic ✨🧘🏻‍♀️✨
